A very good quality, dating from c1862.
Both silver cases are in excellent condition, hallmarked with the maker's mark, the Lion Passant sterling silver mark, the Birmingham town mark and date letter "N" for 1862/63. The inner case also stamped with the serial number 2511 to match the movement proving both are original and have been together since new.
The English lever, fusee movement is in very good condition and working order. It has a nicely engraved balance cock and a diamond end stone. It is complete with dust cover. The watch is key wound and set with the key provided.
The dial is in excellent condition. It is signed "Improved Patent" and has the hours in Roman numerals.
