A very nice, English Silver Letter Opener in the form of a Scottish Basket-Hilted Sword.
It is hallmarked with the Lion Passant Silver mark, the maker's mark "RJP", the Leopard's Head London town mark and date letter "L" for 1985.
It measures approximately 7 3/4" inches (197mm) in length.
The letter opener is in very good condition with a slight bend at the tip (see photos).
