Sampson Mordan Gold Pistol Pencil


Fine gold Sampson Mordan retracting pencil with fob ring.
The piece is engraved with the date July 6th 1840. This is the trial date for the perpetrator of the assassination attempt on Queen Victoria, where the accused was acquitted on the grounds of insanity and sent to the lunatic asylum for life.
Marked for Sampson Mordan.
Condition -
Excellent condition, no rubbing to engraving or makers mark.
Pencil slider works well, but is a little stiff.
Dimensions - Length 40mm (closed), 56mm (open)
