fine quality early 19th century rosewood davenport.
The top which slides forward has a pierced brass gallery and angled tooled leather writing surface opening to interior fitted with two drawers and two dummy drawers, pull out slides to each side and four graduating oak lined drawers to one side with a pull out pen drawer, locked by " secret " mechanism, raised on bun feet.
in wonderfully figured rosewood with a super colour and patina, this fine quality desk needs to be seen to be fully appreciated, it has minimal signs of wear and tear and really is a lovely piece, plus the polished back allows it to be free standing.
