Regency Mahogany Inlaid Petite Hall Table Desk
I just love the simple elegance of Regency antique furniture. This small hall or side table is a beauty. The hall table dates to around 1810. The detailing is choice. The table is made in mahogany and the top is crossbanded with rosewood, boxwood and ebony stringing. The table has a long drawer with a smaller drawer either side of a shaped kneehole. It is raised on tapering square section legs.
It is a beautiful intimate side table. I think the brass ring drawer pulls are replacements but the brass back plates are original. The condition is good. Age related marks as you would expect in a period piece.
This is such an elegant yet sophisticated period table. There is nothing 'blingy' about it, its charm lies in its quality and detail. This table will look good in a hall or as a side table in a principal room furnished in period antiques. Imagine it with a lamp on top illuminating the mahogany and inlay, perhaps a chair beside it and a gilt framed painting on the wall behind it. It's lovely.
The chest is 31 inches wide and 20 inches deep and 30 inches high.
