Exquisite Rare Gilt English square cock Verge Pocket Watch 1815
This is a true unique collector’s item

You are bidding on an outstandingly antique English gilt case verge pocket watch with rare square cock (see pictures of the movement), made by the watchmaker James Barton Birmingham circa 1815. The watch is coming with a key to set the time, it is working well however time keeping and accuracy are not warranted due to the age of the piece. This is an extra clean watch in good all-round condition, considering this magnificent timepiece is more than 200 years old.
Dial: The white enamelled convex dial with black Roman hour numerals, with original fleur de Lys hands. The dial is protected with an original glass in good condition for its age.
Case: The gilt case back with beautiful engine turned decoration. case diameter 46mm.
Movement: The English verge gilt fusee movement with a foliate and pierced square balance cock with an plain three arm steel balance blued steel spiral hairspring, a regulator and round pillars all in good working order, running the full length of the fusee chain, keeping time, but cannot guarantee accuracy considering its age. . “Worth while taking a magnifying glass and have a closer look to the craftsmanship of this engraver.”
