Here are an excellent quality matching pair of French single beds in the Rococo style.

c1890.

Made of walnut, having a lovely curvaceous serpentine shaped head and footboard, with very finely carved shell, fruit and scroll motifs.

With an exceptional, exquisitely carved shell cresting to the headboard.

Lovely shaped and carved side-rails.

Standing on very elegant acanthus and scroll carved feet.

The walnut has developed a warm rich colour, and excellent patina.

With custom made, solid pine bed slats.

Fit UK single 3ft mattresses.

Very easy to assemble.

Completely dismantles into a headboard a footboard, two side-rails, the pine slats stack.

The condition is excellent antique condition, with very minor expected signs of age and use. Minor scratch to one of the headboards, this is shown in the pictures, but is very low down, so would be covered over. Also a knock to one of the carved crestings, with a small end fragment missing, again shown in the pictures, and also very minor and not noticeable.
