We are offering a pair of ormolu and Limoges porcelain lamp bases with hand painted floral panels and putti. Each of the lamps has a different hand painted panel and the putti are different. One of the putti is holding a caduceus, which is a short staff with two serpents entwined around it and surmounted by wings. The was the staff carried by Hermes in Greek mythology and is also the symbol of the medical profession. The other putto is carrying a laurel wreath in one hand and a curved instrument in the other. The bases of the lamps bear a design of leaves and berries. Below the lamp holder is a short cream coloured candle drip.

The lamp bases are not wired and, to comply with Health and Safely law, need to be wired to current British standards by a certified electrician. PriceSOLD Price confidential so please don't ask.
