This is a fabulous pair of Swedish glass taper candle holders by the famous glass company Orrefors, dating to around the 1970s. They are in the "Stella" pattern, sometimes called "Stella Floriform" as they look like a flower when viewed from above. They catch light beautifully and scatter it around them, making them stunning decorative items when not being used as candle holders.

Orrefors is a world famous Swedish glassworks founded in the town of the same name in 1898. Originally they produced very functional window glass and bottles but gradually evolved to create more household items. In the 1920s and 1930s they began to produce stunning pieces of designer glass and have continued in that tradition. Although the Orrefors name is still in use, sadly the glassware is no longer made in the town where the factory closed in 2013.

Condition is extremely good with no chips or cracks. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The candle holders are 6.5cm / 2.6" across the top and stand 4.4cm / 1.75" high. The candles in the photograph, which are a good fit, are 1.2cm in diameter and unburnt are 10cm high. They are readily available from online retailers.

One of the candle holders retains its Orrefors Sweden sticker on the base and both have a small scratched mark on the base which we assume is a catalogue number or batch number.
