Pair of 'R Whytock & Co' Oak Chairs
Rare and unusual pair of late Victorian oak chairs. What makes the chairs unusual is the stamp underneath ‘R Whytock & Co Edinburgh’. The chairs are from a period before Whytock and Reid merged to form the now famous company. The oak chairs have a carved top rail, padded back and upholstered seat, and a simple frieze below and stand on turned legs. The chairs have a feel of late Victorian but also Aesthetic Movement.
