Pair of Antique Victorian Oak-Framed Easy Chairs

This lovely pair of antique armchairs dates from the second half of the nineteenth century. They have what we believe to be oak frames with turned front legs and arm supports. The chairs have button-backs and over-upholstered sprung seats. They are supported on turned front legs and slightly swept back legs terminating in brass and ceramic castors that are stamped with the maker W. Hopkins. The upholstery is later and has some grubbiness and wear but is very much in keeping.
Condition: Overall these chairs are in good usuable condition with some wear consistent age and use. They are solid and usuable but do have some movement in the joints, and one has some screw repairs to the bottom of one of the arm supports. The wooden frame has some scuffing and wear as might be expected and the chairs are overall a little faded. The upholstery is later, and is worn and grubby.
The approx measurements are as follows:
90cm high, 67cm wide, 77cm deep (to maximums), 39cm high to seat. Further images are available. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any queries. Viewing is welcome, but please contact us before travelling as we are only open by appointment.
We can arrange delivery of both smaller items and furniture - please contact us for details and a quote. Customers are also welcome to use their own couriers if preferred.
Payment can be made by PayPal, bank transfer, cheque [UK only], and cash on collection.
