A rare pair of Victorian silver perfume bottles, hallmarked London,1895 by maker SJ (probably Samuel Jacob), featuring beautiful horizontally ridged glass bodies topped by ornate fret-cut sterling silver mounts.
Each antique scent bottle is topped with an embossed domed, decanter style, stopper, also hallmarked as above, richly decorated with intricate repoussé detail: the 19th-century silversmith craftsmanship on show here is of an exceptional standard.
In really fantastic condition, this highly collectable and very elegant pair of antique silver scent bottles is ideal for lovers of Victorian vanity accessories, perfume bottle collectors, and antique silverware enthusiasts.
They combine decorative and functional elements, with the tight ridged finish providing a non-slip grip, while the decanter style tops allow for a generous dab of scent to be applied. These original 1895 Victorian perfume bottles represent timeless quality in their refined design, making them a superb addition to any serious collection.
