Painted Louis XV sofa chaise longue
Antique quality gilded and painted Louis XV sofa chaise longue settee.
Dates from the 19th / early 20 Century, having the most fantastic age, colour and patina...to die for.
This sofa really has the look.
What appears like real gold leaf .... even on the back.
Would look so so good in the right location.
Fantastic style, very rare and sought after.
Lovely proportions.
They don't come much better than this one.
The needlepoint upholstery is old, has some wear, stains and marks, but is gorgeous and perfectly usable. Some horsehair stuffing.
Overall dimensions 1260mmW x 720mmD x 980mmH x 430mmH seat.
There are historic knocks, marks, repairs and alterations as one would expect given the age of the item. We have not examined the parts of the structure that are obscured by upholstery, although the sofa is quite solid and the legs seem well fixed.
Please note that this item is large and heavy. Please make sure before buying that it will fit in and can be maneuvered into the room that it is intended for. The customer will need to provide 1 strong able bodied person for our driver to assist with carrying.
