Onyx & Champleve Table Lamp & Beaded Shade
This is a lovely early 20th Century Onyx, Brass and Champleve Enamel Table Lamp. The lamp has a fine solid brass base with four brass ball feet, surmounted with a stepped onyx plinth, topped with a brass foliate circlet, on which the champleve section rests. The champleve enamelling is in shades of red, turquoise, cream and gold. Above the slender stem, four embossed brass leaves clasp the onyx column, which is topped with a slender band of champleve enamel, above which is brass foliate fluting.
The base has been matched with a shade in cream moire silk, with cream fringe overlaid with gold Venetian glass beading, the whole completed with cream braid. The shade has been made by the makers of the Downton Abbey TV series lampshades.
The lamp has been newly wired in gold fabric covered flex and comes complete with all newfittings including safer switched lampholder, plug and shade carrier. As with all electrical items it is recommended that it be checked by a qualified electrician before use.
Height to base of lamp holder: 19 1/2" - 49.5cm
Height to top of shade: 29" - 73.7cm
Base: 6 5/8" - 16.25cm square
Diameter of shade: 15" - 38.1cm
Condition: Very good condition. There is no damage to the onyx or the enamel. The shade is new.
