On the Slopes of Ingleborough (D B Crossley)


We have for sale a lovely watercolour painting of Ingleborough by the well known Yorkshire artist Donald B Crossley (1932-2014).
This watercolour painting is titled "On the slopes of Ingleborough" and depicts a shepherd and his dog along with a small flock of sheep on the slopes of Ingleborough. The painting is signed by Donald Crossley on the bottom right. Attached to the back of the painting is Donald crossley's card marked in his hand with the title of the painting.
The paining is 21 inches wide and 17 inches high including the frame and both the painting and frame are in an very good condition.
About the Artist
Donald Crossley was a well known and much loved Yorkshire artist. He lived in Mytholmroyd near his close friend the former poet laureate Ted Hughes and served on the committee of the Yorkshire Watercolour Society. He was also a member of the British Watercolour Society and a Fellow of the International Guild of Artists. Some of his works were published by The National trust. His style is easily recognisable, his pictures focused on Yorkshire Dale, Pennine and Lake District scenes featuring a shepherd, sheep and a border collie - his famed one man and his dog motif.
