Oil Portrait of a Young 19th C Gentleman
A delightful oil portrait of an unknown young gentleman circa 1810/20. He wears a black coat over a white shirt and neckcloth.
The work is well painted and as often the case with this type of portrait unsigned by the artist. To the verso is a label but the passage of time has left this unfortunately barely legible.
Mounted in its original gilt/gesso frame we doubt this painting has ever been removed from the frame in its 200 years.
Some small crazing of the paint and wear to the gilt frame however this piece has a great untouched country house appeal to it.
