Newcastle Silver Teaspoon Langlands & Robertson
Here we have for sale a delightful late 18th century English provincial Newcastle silver Old English pattern bright cut edge teaspoon with lovely period monogram to the terminal.
The details are as follows:
Silversmiths: John Langlands I & John Robertson I
Year of manufacture: Unown, spoon is lacking a date letter but, John Langlands I & John Robertson I partnership was active between 1778 - 1795
Spoon is marked with a duty mark which was introduced in non incuse form in 1786.
Assay Office: Newcastle (Partially hallmarked with lion passant, duty mark & sponsor mark)
Dimensions:
Length: 13 cm
Weight: 12 grams
This is a dainty and delightful spoon, it has a gorgeous design and are nice to hold and lovely to look at and is a practical piece of silver flatware too. This would make a fabulous addition to your silver collection, or would be a thoughtful and special Birthday or Anniversary gift for a loved one, or a great gift for mother's day.
Condition report
In very good condition for its age of approximately 230 years, some minor misshaping to the edge to the bowl, and the usual age related tarnish marks and surface scratches.
