A Movado Chronometer silver cased, purse style, travelling pocket watch/clock.
The watch in the form of a purse, the ends are pulled open to reveal the watch face. The opening and closing action also automatically winds the watch.
The dial is in good unrestored condition, with some minor marks consistent with age.
The "0.935" standard silver case is in very good condition. It has the serial number 12235 and also stamped "Swiss Made, Patent, Fab Suisse" above the retailers name "Kirby, Beard & Co., Paris".
The company originated in England c1743 and was trading as Kirby Beard & Co. (Robert Kirby & Gearge Beard) from c1840. They are recorded as retailing in Paris c1850's.
There are some names lightly engraved on the watch inner cover (see photo).
