Mid Century Norwegian Silver Viking Trinket Dish

Here we have a fun but slightly gruesome Mid-Century Norwegian 830 Silver & Enamel trinket dish. The silver dish has a planished or hammered finish, whilst the centre is beautifully enamelled with an image of one viking stabbing another with a sword.
The dish is made by the firm of N.M. Thune in Oslo and dates to around the 1950s / 60s. Nilius Martinius Thune founded his company in 1857 in what was then Kristiania, now Oslo (since 1925). Thune was one of the most dominant silversmiths and goldsmiths up until the Second World War but after the war moved more into antique jewellery and smaller items as the market changed.
Condition of the dish is good with no damage to the enamel and just a slight misshaping of the silver rim in the bottom left quadrant. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The trinket dish is 6.3cm / 2.5ins in diameter and 0.8cm / 0.3ins deep. It weighs in at 26.1g / 0.9oz.
The underside of the dish is stamped THUNE for N.M. Thune and 830S for 830/1000 grade silver, the Norwegian standard at the time.
Shipping in the UK is £4 by Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For.
