Superb mid century modern rosewood console table or sideboard by the celebrated British antique furniture designer Robert Heritage c.1967. An ingenious modular system, part of the Planar range produced by the high end manufactures Archie Shine and retailed through Harrods and Heals. Comprising a very smart long console or side table with four slim drawers raised on brushed aluminium legs, also a pair of low two door cabinets with a single loose shelf inside and rolling on chromed castors. The three pieces can be used independently or pushed together to stand as a single sideboard. Highly figured rosewood veneers across the top, front and sides of each piece. Superb colour and condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops. Note we also have a toughened glass top used to protect the table surface.

Robert Heritage (b.1927) created some of the most celebrated furniture designs of the postwar era. His work did much to popularise the Scandinavian style in Britain and won numerous awards from the British Design Council. In 1968 together with Ernace Race he designed the interiors and furnishings of Queen Elizabeth II cruise liner.
