Here we have a good quality pair of Mid-Century Sterling Silver Handled Tweezers. The tweezer section is made of steel for strength whilst the long silver handle has engine turned decoration on both sides and a blank cartouche, making them suitable as a gift.

The tweezers are made in Birmingham by Barker Brothers Silversmiths Ltd and date to 1954. Founded in 1801, the company quickly established itself as a maker of a broad range of good quality silverware. They remained in business until 1992.

Condition is extremely good with no dings or dents and just the most superficial of surface wear. They have either seen only limited use or been very well looked after for over 65 years. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The hallmarks on the side of the handle are easy to read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the anchor assay mark for Birmingham, the date letter E for 1954 and the B.B.S.Ld. makers' mark for Barker Brothers Silversmiths Ltd. The other side of the handle is stamped Made In England and has the lion passant and the date letter E.
