Metamorphic Child’s High Chair & Table c.1840.
Delightful little mid 19th.c. mahogany metamorphic child’s high chair and table c.1840. Chair design copied from the classic scroll arm chairs of the period with a shaped backrest, carved stretcher and turned front legs. With a removable bar across the front to help keep the child in place. Square table also in solid mahogany with turned legs. Note the raised edge to stop things rolling off the sides. The chair attaches to the base with a threaded bolt through the centre stretcher to make a high chair (seat height 24″), or they can be split apart to make a lovely little table and chair set. Superb condition with original fittings and seat pad.
