Superb item stands 254cms in height circa 1870.
Lovely patina to the wood , there is a stepped outswept cornice above a pair of glazed doors above a barrel front enclosing a retractable plateau with inset tooled and gilt leather tiltable writing surface.
Inside the cylinder is an arrangement of pidgeon holes and maple veneered small draws. The base stands on a plinth with a pair of rectangular arched panelled solid doors.
A thoroughly impposing bureau that would grace any home!.
