Large Gothic Iron Porch or Gate Post Lantern

This a Large and Heavy Lantern is it is very Gothic in design it has 8 flat sides a domed top and it is decorated with fierce looking spikes, it would have formerly been lit with oil now it has a hanging bulb is supported from above, there is also a shackle to support a chain but the main body of the lamp is set on a heavy iron plate where it has previously been fixed to the top of a post
This is a superb piece of 19th century metal work, it is in good original condition and working
The Lantern is 21” across and 29” high
