Large Antique Carved Oak Twin Pedestal Desk
A lovely heavily carved oak partners desk. We date this desk to the early 20th century.
The desk is supplied in three sections: the two pedestals and the top section.
The pedestals each sit on four large carved oak claw feet.
The pedestals have lovely carved panelled cupboard doors at each side. One cupboard has a three drawer chest, another has a filing cabinet and there is a large cupboard that carries through to the other side. There is a pull out shelf above one cupboard door.
The desk has carvings around the four sides of the table apron, around the base of the pedestals and down the side of each cupboard door.
The doors are fitted with locks (key is supplied).
The desk has a height of 31.5" (80cm), a width of 65" (165cm) and a depth of 44.5" (113cm).
The kneehole height is 27” (69cm), width is 19.5” (50cm) between the feet.
This lovely desk remains in very good solid condition with minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage. There is a small ink stain inside the top drawer. The desk has a couple of small indentation lines, a light ring mark and a minor age gap to the desk top surface. The shelf is missing from the large cupboard.
This remains a very stylish and elegant twin pedestal partners desk. It will continue to provide sterling service for many years to come.
