A highly versatile Gesso and painted wall mirror or large proportions, having a moulded frame with carved Greek Key decoration of which has been lightly scrubbed through to show the Gesso, giving a subtle but striking contrast, the whole raised on a plinth base. This mirror could be wall mounted and brackets are supplied, used as an Overmantle or Pier mirror or simply floor standing. French, late 19th century.
