Large 18C Georgian mahogany chest of 7 drawers
Antique large Georgian inlaid mahogany chest of 7 drawers (3 over 4).
We think that this chest dates from the late 18th or early 19th Centuries.
An imposing and impressive chest of drawers with a huge storage capacity.
Nice dark colouring and attractive inlays.
Shield shaped bone escutcheons and desirable bracket feet.
All of the drawers slide freely.
This piece of antique furniture would look great in the right location, is attractive and aesthetically very pleasing.
Overall dimensions 1240mmW x 550mmD x 1250mmH.
Historical knocks, marks, imperfections, repairs and alterations as is usual. There is some scratching that is old and well polished in, which now forms part of the historic patina. The handles are not original but they are period 19C examples. There is some historic cracking to the top and sides, but this is old, stabilised and wax filled. The drawers have old paper linings, that could do with replacement / overlining. As you would expect, there are some historical woodworm holes that we have treated for good measure. No keys and the locks are untested.
Please note that this chest is large and heavy. Please make sure before buying that it will fit in and can be maneuvered into the room that it is intended for. The customer will need to provide 1 strong able-bodied person to assist our driver carrying the chest.
