Lady's Silver & MOP Fruit Knife, Sheffield, 1924

A lovely Lady's Sterling Silver and Mother Of Pearl Fruit Knife from the mid-1920s. With a beautifully carved mother of pearl handle and in its original case, this is a superb example of a high quality fruit knife from this period. Made in Sheffield in 1924 by highly regarded silversmiths Henry Williamson Ltd, the knife has a delicate butterfly and flower carved on the handle and the name "EVA" neatly engraved in the cartouche.
The Fruit Knife is in very good condition with no dings or dents to the silver blade and no damage to the mother of pearl handle. The case, which has an impressed floral motif across the opening, is a little bashed at one end but holds the knife securely. It would make a lovely gift or be a fine addition to a collection.
The knife is 13.4cm long when fully extended and weighs 22.1g all in.
The hallmarks, which are well struck and clear to read, are the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the crown assay mark for Sheffield, the date letter "g" for 1924 and the HW.Ld makers' mark for Henry Williamson Ltd.
Shipping in the UK is £4 by Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For.
Overseas customers please enquire about shipping costs before making a purchase and please be aware that some countries have restrictions on the importing of knives of any kind.
