Italian Louis XVI chest of drawers XVIII Century.
Description: Antique Louis XVI Lombard/Venetian chest of drawers in fine exotic woods from the 18th century. The front is divided by a small drawer under the top and two larger ones underneath.
In the two lower drawers the separation is not highlighted, thus creating a large mirror with the dark and shiny splendor of walnut with the veneer arranged in a herringbone pattern.
On this, a rectangular frame with a repetitive leaf motif encloses a rosette with a plant-like inlay inside.
In the under-top drawer, the decoration emphasizes its horizontality and has a frame similar to that of the two drawers but of smaller proportions that closes a decoration made up of beaded festoons, holding floral motifs.
The same frame is found on the sides where it frames the same rosette with a beautiful play of woods including walnut, rosewood and bois de rose, while on the horizontal plane a theme perfectly identical to the two lower central drawers with rosettes represented in the same shape and with the same woods.
The truncated pyramid legs are enriched by the presence of a rich floral motif inlay.
Conditions: Restored by our master craftsmen with the traditional shellac and alcohol handmade method.
Origin: Lombardy 18th century.
