Iron & Mirrored Glass Two-Tiered Occasional Table

The unusual and very pretty continental wrought iron occasional table, having two mirrored glass tiers and decorated with iron swags and tassels to each side surviving from late nineteenth century continental Europe, and later, from the residence of a Wiltshire Rectory, England.
The table is in very nice original and clean condition overall. The two glass shelves still have much of the mirrored plate in tact, with some parts worn through, mainly to the edges of the larger lower section, making her rather decorative. All of the components of the table are true and original with no later replacements. She remains sturdy. There are two areas of repair to the iron tassel work, possibly where parts have become detached and have been reattached.
We can’t find a similar example having been sold whereby the two tiers are of vastly differing sizes such as this one nor one with this kind of arrangement of swags and tassels.
This hugely decorative table has a beautiful balance and striking design to it and this coupled with its wonderfully timeworn appearance and elegant proportions makes it very discernible indeed.
