An antique Indian domed-top painted wooden wedding dowry box or small table-top chest with very decorative brass mounts. This beautifully crafted box was made in Kerala in South India in the early 20th century.

It is perfect for storing jewellery or for other precious items.

Condition: Very good antique condition with all brass mounts still present. There is some fading to the paintwork on top, though the colours on the front, back and sides are still vibrant. It comes with a key which turns but doesn't appear to lock the box. The box has been gently cleaned in our workshop and is ready to display and use.
