A most striking Victorian mirror-back sideboard of good quality,

c1890

Made of solid Oak, having elaborately carved designs, in 16th century inspired designs.

The super-structure has a projecting, moulded cornice over the original bevelled mirror, flanked by carved panels, of scrolling foliate designs, centered with carved heads in profile. This is supported by the most wonderfully carved large figural supports, depicting Gentlemen in Elizabethan style dress. Which are very striking and imposing.

Having profusely carved cupboard doors below, with lozenge carved panelled fronts, again centered with carved heads in profile, with two drawers above, each having carved mask pull-handles, surrounded by scrolling foliate designs. The doors open to reveal a single shelved interior, giving a vast amount of storage space.

Overall a very striking and decorative Victorian sideboard, of good quality, constructed from solid oak.

The condition is excellent, restored condition, French polish finish. Re-placement handles.

Very solid sturdy and strong.
