A good, Illinois Watch Company, Springfield, Illinois USA, sterling silver, Pocket Watch, dating from c1894.
The watch has a good 7 jewel, full plate movement. The movement is signed by the maker "Illinois Watch Co., Springfield" and has the serial number 1,224370 dating the watch to c1894.
The white enamel dial is also signed by the maker "Illinois Watch Co. Springfield USA". The hours are in Roman numerals and there is a sub seconds dial at six o'clock. The watch complete with a nice original set of blued steel hands.
The watch is key wound and set, the time being set by opening the front cover and using the key to rotate the hands.
The watch case has the case maker's mark "AB" and also 0.925 for sterling silver.
Overall a good example in good condition and working order, although the case does have some minor indents/bruising.
