Carthorse Buckle
On leather strap.
G&SW Railway operated from 1850 until the grouping in 1923.
Approximate dimensions: buckle 8.2cm x 8cm, length of buckle with strap and metal hoop at end 34cm, total weight 320 grams.
This item does show its age with surface marks and the leather is stiff and showing cracks.
Quite an unusual item from the G&SW Railway.
