Gothic oak four poster Emperor size bed, 6'6 wide
A fabulous opportunity to own a rare Emperor size four poster bed. This super bed was designed in the Elizabethan style by Wood Brothers for the Old Charm range as a Limited Edition to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of Elizabeth II. With reeded and carved posts to the corners and similar carvings to the cornice and lower rails it features a linen fold carved headboard and removable canopy support to the cornice which is finished with gold tasselled braid.
In very good condition with only minor usage marks, the quality is very good, the top surface to the cornice is fitted with a slot and comes with a locking bar in order to fix a canopy to the frame. It will take an Emperor size(sometimes known as “large super king size”) 78in x 78in base and mattress which are not supplied. Please note the headboard is fitted with original scrolling black metal candle style light brackets, the plugs have been removed and these are sold as decoration only. The matching bedside cupboards are available to buy separately.
The overall dimensions at the largest points are approximately
Width - 91in (231cm) at feet
Length - 87 1/4in (221.5cm) at feet
Height - 88in (223.5cm) at centre finial
Height - 80in (203cm) at corner finials
Base & mattress size between rails - 79in wide x 79in long (201cm x 201cm)
For transportation and moving this bed fully dismantles by means of bolts through each of the posts.
