This is a good Irish mahogany Gainsborough chair in the George II style dating from around 1870. The handsome chair has typical Irish style carved detail to the fabulous wolf form grotesque masks on the arm terminals and legs with the archetypal pointed pad, toe feet. The chair has been recovered in close nailed red-brown leather and is in excellent condition ready for use.
This measures 96 cms high 69 cms wide by 73 cms deep.
