Georgian Mahogany Child's High Chair
An early 19th century Georgian mahogany child's high chair.
The high chair is made in two parts, a miniature arm chair to the top and a stand/table below.
The chair and stand are held together by an original brass bolt.
The arm chair is a true model of a Georgian chair with a concave top rail and cross rail that has carved decoration, reeded arms and square tapering legs with cross stretchers.
The arms have a rail that slides through and locks in place to keep a child seated and has an adjustable foot rest below.
The stand is a small square table with a bolt hole in the centre to hold the chair and table together.
The arm chair has its original but worn horse hair seat with a contemporary tie-on seat cover.
The child's chair is in good condition and is easy to take apart and put back together.
The locking peg on the chair crossbar has a hole so a short cord can be tied through to prevent it being lost or eaten! (Circa 1820)
Height 90cm (35.4 inches)
Width 37cm (14.6 inches)
Depth 36cm (14.2 inches)
