An attractive early 19th Century oak chest of drawers with later carving. Comprising 2 short drawers over 3 long drawers with fancy brass escutcheons and drop handles. Comes with key which locks the bottom drawer and the first long drawer. It stands on shaped feet and has a carved pelmet. In a lovely mid brown colour with a rich patina. It has been carved a later date – a popular past time of the Victorians – a really interesting, quirky statement piece.

Solid and sturdy. Drawers runs smoothly Nice age and patina. Lots of old repairs to the feet (see photos), the back foot is different to the rest of the feet! The oval back plate of one handle is a slightly diferent design.
