George VI Silver Pencil, Walker & Hall, 1948

This is a good quality George VI Sterling Silver Mechanical Pencil from just after the Second World War. It has engine turned decoration along the length of the body and there is a blank cartouche.
The pencil is made by the famous silversmiths Walker & Hall in Birmingham and dates to 1948. Although renowned for their high quality silverware, Walker & Hall only made quite a small number of pens and pencils making this something of a rarity.
Condition is good with no dings or dents but the mechanism would benefit from a service. The clip is securely attached and will hold the pencil firmly in place in your pocket. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The pencil is 12.5cm / 4.9ins long and weighs in at 20.8g / 0.73oz.
The hallmarks, alongside the clip, are nice and clear to read. The show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the anchor assay mark for Birmingham, the date letter Y for 1948 and the W & H makers' mark for Walker & Hall.
Shipping in the UK is £4 by Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For.
Overseas customers, please ask us about shipping costs to your country before making a purchase.
