Here we have a stylish George V Sterling Silver Photo Frame for a 7 x 5 photograph. The frame is broadly oblong with bowed sides and four extended panelled corners. The backing is plain varnished wood.

The photo frame was made in Chester in 1913 but unfortunately the makers' mark has been polished away over the years leaving just a ghost of a mark which we are unable to identify.

Condition is generally good with just a few truly tiny dings in the frame plus the superficial surface wear that has to be expected after 110 years of good service. The hinge on the strut is a little loose but still secure. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The visible picture size is 7ins / 17.9cm by 5ins / 12.7cm. The overall size of the frame is 23cm / 9ins by 18cm / 7.1ins and it weighs in at 372g / 13.1oz.

Apart from the polished away makers' mark, the hallmarks at the bottom of the frame are nice and clear to read. The show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the sword & three wheatsheaves assay mark for Chester and the date letter N, on its side, for 1913.
