This is a top quality George III Sterling Silver Decanter Label for Brandy. The Decanter Label is made in London in a good gauge of silver by silversmith John Rich and dates to 1793. "Brandy" is elegantly engraved in block capitals across the oval shaped and curved Decanter Label, which also has a thread decoration around the rim. The hallmarks on the reverse of the label are well struck and clear to read, despite being a little rubbed with age.

The Decanter Label is in very good condition with no dings or dents and really just the most minimal amount of wear, quite remarkable for an item that's over 225 years old. Please make sure you look at all the photos.

The label is 4.7cm wide and 2.7cm high and weighs in at 9.2g.
The hallmarks are the lion passant for sterling silver, the London date letter "s" for 1793, the George III duty mark and the script style JR makers' mark for John Rich.
