Superb 19th century George 2nd Chippendale style mahogany Gainsborough chair of very generous proportions. Although a 19th century copy this chair has been made from very good quality heavy dense mahogany by a very good cabinet maker. The chair has cabriole shape legs all round with French style foot. The chair is carved all round, the carving of exquisite quality. The chair has a serpentine shape top rail. The upholstery is good.

The chair is in very good condition except for a slight wobble on one of the arms. The colour and patination are as good as a period piece. I have dated the chair around 1870 but it cold be a little bit earlier than that, it is very hard to tell.

SIZE 29" wide by 27" deep by 40" high. Seat height is 18".
