French Gothic Oak Book Rest or Reading Stand, Lutrin

The stand is carved in Solid Oak with the shapes of Gothic Roses, I was told that it originated from a presbytery in France,
This is a charming piece, it is made from one piece of Oak and dates from the mid 19th Century, it has been superbly and brilliantly crafted, the stand is hinged and made from one piece

A charming piece and in excellent condition for its age
The stand is 15” high, 8.5” wide and 7” deep when set at an angle
