French Carved Oak Marriage Double Bed
French Carved Oak Double Bed, a Marriage Bed in the Breton style, depicting scenes from the country side
This is a superb piece 19th Century Carving, the head board has the characteristic Breton Wheel of Life with a couple resting against it, while the foot board has a large carved panel, with figures dancing in celebration.
The bed is in good sound condition there is a little fading on the head board but it has a superb patina
The bed is 54” wide and 76” long, the top is 60” high, and comes with a purpose made slatted wooden base
