Fine Set of 6 Dutch Cabriole Leg Salon Chairs
Fine quality set of six mid 19th century Dutch walnut salon chairs. Nice shape of chairs with cabriole legs all round. The beautifully shaped frames are walnut veneered on oak with solid walnut backs and legs. The chairs have been re-upholstered some time in the last 20 years at which time corner blocks have been screwed in underneath. These could be removed or at least improved.
The chairs are a very comfortable size with wide seats and are in basically very good order. There are a few old worm holes in places but nothing serious.
They are a very nice mellow colour.
Pairs of these are reasonably common but it is a bit more unusual to get a set of six.
Formerly from ASHFORD CASTLE in CONG, Co. MAYO. (sold at Ashford Castle Auction, Feb. 2015)
