19TH CENTURY HUNT & HOUNDS IN PROGRESS / OIL ON CANVAS SIGNED JAMES CECIL BENETT C1882 25.5 X 44.5 INCHES.

A quality pair of 19th century oil paintings on canvas depicting mounted huntmaster on his grey horse with hounds seen in the foreground and about to take to the chase.

A detailed pair of paintings with excellent depth in the foreground,well defined hounds,and with a nice blue skyline and distant clouds threatening a little rain.

The pair have both been relined and lightly restored on 1990,and are still presented in their original wooden gilt frames,finished with a nice gilt bevalled slip.

CONDITION

Both oil paintings have been wax relined,cleaned and sympathetically restored with a light revarnish
The condition is very good comensurate with age,and both look as they should.full of realism,charactor and very presentable and aged.
