A stunning and very good quality late Regency / William IV breakfront library bookcase, constructed from the finest figured mahogany and having a stepped cornice with superb and unusual carved and moulded up stands. The upper section having 4 glazed doors with beautifully carved astragal glazing bars and retaining the original floated glass. The doors open via Bramah style brass locks to reveal solid mahogany adjustable shelves. The attractive stiles having turned and tapering columns with good carved capitals. The lower section again of breakfront form and having four beautifully figured mahogany arch panelled doors. The stunning stiles with carved patrae above applied scrolling columns with carved harebells and stylised tulip carving. The whole raised on a figured mahogany plinth. Condition- very fine and original and of superb colour. Dimensions:- Height…98.5’’/ 250cm. Width… 94.5’’/ 240cm. Depth…18.25’’/ 46.5cm. Delivery to most of U.K. mainland £180.
