Exquisite Victorian Silver Locket & Chain Necklace
This is a truly exceptional piece!
On offer is this spectacular Victorian silver locket & chain necklace – all original.
It is the most intricately crafted locket I’ve ever come across. Not only is it beautifully detailed on the front, but the reverse too. So you can actually wear it either way, with two designs to choose from.
The front stands out with its exquisite raised design, trefoil, rope twist, bead and engraved decoration. The back is engraved with leaves/foliage and bears the full set of English hallmarks for Birmingham and year ‘1884’, with the maker’s mark ‘R.J.D’.
The locket is on its original fancy belcher link chain with frontal ‘C’ catch. It has an extended length of 42 cm.
The locket measures 4.4 x 4 cm (without the bail) and can hold two photos inside.
Condition the locket is in excellent condition. The chain has a few misshapen links, but other than that very good.
It’s a fantastic piece throughout and looks stunning when worn.
