Exceptional quality French Mercier Feres burr walnut with gilded bronze ormalu mounts king size bed.Box wood and fruit wood inlaid cross banding . Professionally cleaned and polished maintaining patina and detail . Lovely quality in detail of decorative ormalu mounts. Please see close up images to appreciate.
Mercier Freres was a distinguished French design studio and antique furniture manufacturer founded late in the 19th century in Paris on rue Faubourg Saint-Antoine in the heart of the Parisian furniture district. It was recognized as one of the leading French design firms of the late 19th century, a distinction that continued well into the 20th century. In 1924, Mercier Freres was chosen to represent France in the Exposition Française de New York, an important trade fair that was held in the Grand Central Palace. At one time the firm had branches in both Geneva and Dallas

We do have many beds awaiting restoration if you are looking for a particular style and can send images if requested. We have our own workshops located along side our showroom in a beautiful medieval barn seven miles south of Bristol.
