Evelyne Almayrac (French sculptor, b.1943)
A wonderful pair of large art pottery ceramic lover figurines, presented on a bespoke metal folding bench.
Very rarely available in the UK, these superb and iconic 'french lovers' models are normally only available to buy from two select galleries in Paris and Cannes.
Almayrac is a well-regarded French sculptor and ceramicist, born in the South of France in 1943. She trained in Vallauris before moving to Spain, working under Professor Pedro Pablo Gomez at the School of Ceramics in Madrid as well as with Liliane Caumont at the Atelier Eucaliptos. She set up her first studio in 1980 and a string of awards followed. Her large, inventive, fun and playful ceramic figurines, often seated on benches are among her best known works, of which this is a super, vintage example.
Intended for indoor or semi-sheltered display, the pieces can be arranged as shown, or the models could be seated on the edge of furniture, or within an alcoves or upon a window sill.
Very hard to find in the UK, the price includes UK couriered delivery to your door. We regret international delivery is not offered on these.
